FAQ
What is a Poker Run?
It is a spin off of the traditional card game.
Participants travel to five stops along a prearranged route. At each stop, 5 cards are dealt for a Poker Hand and at the end of all five stops, the participants has 5 poker hands.
I am not a member of the snowmobile club, can I still play?
Yes. The event is open to the public.
What if I don't have a snowmobile, can I still do it?
Yes. All of the stops are arranged to be accessible by snowmobile or automobile.
How much does it cost?
It costs $5.00 for a tally sheet which has 5 Poker Hands. There is no limit on how many poker hands can be purchased.
Where does all the money go?
The fundraiser Poker Run proceeds benefits Central Maine Adaptive Sports (CMAS), and the Andy Valley Sno Gypsies.
CMAS is a non-profit organization that offers adaptive ski lessons to people with disabilities. The group operates out of Lost Valley and last year they received $200.00.
The Andy Valley Sno Gypsies SC is also non-profit and maintain 30+ miles of snowmobile trails in Auburn. The money is used to pay for gas for our groomers and ongoing trail maintenance.
How long does it take?
You are allotted 4 hours to complete the Poker Run. Most snowmobilers complete the run in 2 hours Most car drivers complete the run in an hour. You must turn in your Poker Hands tally sheeet BEFORE 4:00 PM to qualify for prizes.
I am coming from out of town with my sleds, where do I park?
If you need to trailer your sleds to Auburn there are two areas to park:
1. ESM located at 1200 Minot Avenue.

How do I register?
Registration starts at 11:30 AM and ends at 2:00 PM at Lost Valley Ski Area in Auburn.
At the top of the stairs in the Lost Valley Lodge you will see the Andy Valley Sno Gypsies SC members set up. Once you pay for your Poker Hand, you will be given paperwork.
Remember the Poker Run starts anytime after NOON, so earlier registrants may have to wait before beginning. Enjoy the amenitites at Lost Valley or visit with friends.
How do I know where to go after that?
Within your paperwork is the designated route and stops. Go to each stop in the order listed. At each stop an Andy Valley Sno Gypsies SC member will assist you with your cards and help you to the next stop if you need directions.
Are there bathrooms?
At the beginning and end, facilities are at Lost Valley. Mid-way through the Poker Run there is an outhouse.
Where are Prizes handed out?
At Lost Valley in the Brookside Lounge. You MUST be present to win. Poker hands need to be turned in before 4:00 PM to qualify for prizes. Prizes are awarded starting at 4:00 PM. If you arrive early, enjoy the Lost Valley facilities. The Brookside Lounge does serve food and drink, at your cost.

Volunteers are needed and don't forget, after the Poker Run there is a Pot Luck Supper at the Club House to thank all of you. If you weren't able to volunteer, that's okay come on over to share the meal! The Pot Luck should start between around 6:00PM.
